I have never, ever spent so much money on wool. Never. Ever.

But it was worth it....

Madelinetosh vintage in Scarlet - lots of it..

Not so 'little' ladybug..

Happy Birthday to my beautiful, smart, quirky and totally unique Ladybug!

Birthday cake - a 'strawberries and cream' baked cheesecake as requested by the lady herself...

While things may have been a tad quiet (ahem!) on the old blogging front, it doesn't mean that I've been sitting back and twiddling my thumbs - no siree!!

Apart from the usual busyness that summer holidays bring, this year they have brought along with them a number of tiny new arrivals (for friends, not me, I hasten to add..)  And of course, new babies need presents....

Burp cloths, because you can never have too many of these...

An 'in threes' cardigan in deliciously squooshy Madelinetosh Vintage DK...

A teeny, tiny 'pebble' vest made out of a surprisingly soft skein of Noro Silk garden

To go with the vest, something I haven't made for aaaaages : a nappy cake!

It wasn't all about the babies though, oh no. A lovely little lady celebrated her first birthday too. On special request, a blanket for her doll's crib was made.

.. and because I liked the first one so much, another 'in threes' was produced.

Not too bad eh?!

Yay! First bunny finished. I've decided in my usual organised way, to try and make six of these for Easter gifts. Five to go.....

In the eye of the beholder.....

Well, I think she looks a bit 'odd'...

But a certain four year old thinks that she is beautiful, so who am I to argue?!

Lula doll from this book, knitted with oddments of wool and without the flowery bits as a certain little lady was trying to be so very patient, and they would have taken longer!

Also being made this week:

 crochet bunny from here

and a pile of felt squares destined to be coasters!

Still going strong!

Nope. Still not fed up with it.....

Today I practised a little more and made three lavender bags.

I have just finished painting an old wardrobe for our newly decorated guest room, and wanted to get rid of the 'painty'smell. I also wanted one for the drawer in which I keep the spare bedlinen.

I really like the 'new' room, though it's not quite finished yet. I bought these for the wardrobe to replace the boring old pine ones, and they make me smile each time I see them.

..and have you seen my wallpaper? I love it!

And another one....

I'll move on from houses soon, I promise.

Just as soon as everyone has finished moving!

I think I may be addicted....

After a few false starts,

I have begun to get a feel for free motion embroidery.

I think I'm addicted....

A New Arrival...

Look who has joined us in our home this week...!

We have wanted a piano for so long, but we never had the room in our old house.
When we moved, we certainly had the room, but not the spare cash.

and then we heard about this old Lady who was looking for someone to take care of her - for free!

and so she came to live with us

Personally I think tutus and stripy tights are the 'must-have' uniform of every pianist....
